Your outdoor movie rental includes everything you need to host your movie night event, as well as a technician who will come and set up, stay and monitor your event, and break everything down at the end of the night. More specifically, your event rental includes:
Movie screen;
Laser LCD projector;
Bose or QSC PA speakers;
DVD/Blu-Ray player (or laptop rental is available);
150’ of 10 AWG extension cords;
Commercial grade power conditioner;
Microphone;
and a friendly and hardworking FunFlicks technician.
The only thing that we do not provide is the movie or media itself or the source of power (though we can rent whisper-quiet inverter generators upon request).
Yes, we do! Whether you need popcorn for 15 or 500, we have you covered. Just let your FunFlicks salesperson know you’re interested in adding popcorn and we will take care of the rest.
Understanding we are predominantly an outdoor event business, we never charge for weather related rescheduling! Simply put, you have two options:
1. Wait until your confirmation call or text on the day of your event (which will come before 2:00 PM). If the forecast looks bad, and you want to postpone your event, you can postpone the event and reschedule free of charge on a date of your choosing (based on availability).
2. You can prepay for a rain date, which reserves your technician and equipment on a specific date of your choosing. This ensures that no one else can book your equipment and technician on that second date. Rain dates are non-refundable.
Media: Unless specifically licensed through FunFlicks Mid-Atlantic, all media to be played on our screen/system must be provided by the customer. Our system plays standard, commercially produced DVD and Blu-ray discs. We can also accommodate laptop connections or gaming systems with prior notice of the laptop/gaming system you intend to use, or we can provide a laptop with preloaded media upon request. Special connections should be discussed with a FunFlicks representative prior to making preparations for your event.
Electrical Requirements: The customer must provide sufficient power on-site for our equipment to operate correctly. Each outlet must be unused by other appliances and each must run on a separate circuit breaker for the rentals you requested. Our power recommendations are as follows: 20 AMPS for our Backyard and Premiere packages, 30 AMPS for our Blockbuster package, 40 AMPS for our Elite package, and 50+ AMPS for our Epic and Extreme packages. Popcorn machine rentals require a second dedicated 20 AMP circuit. Power outlets must be located within 100' of the location where our screen/equipment will be setup. We will not setup equipment more than 100' from a power source.
Customers may provide a generator with at least 5,000 watts of continuous power and 2 separate circuit breakers, the specifics of your rentals requirement must be reviewed with a sales rep. Inverted power is strongly recommended. FunFlicks Mid-Atlantic also offers generator rentals at additional charge.
Parking & Unloading: The customer must provide adequate parking for loading/unloading, including any costs, permits or passes, to allow out tech an unloading point within 50 yards of the screen setup location. Any required parking fees or charges incurred by the tech must be reimbursed by the customer.
Screen Location, Size & Surface Type: The customer is responsible for ensuring our screen & projection gear will fit at rental location. It must be completely dark (15 minutes after official sunset) before projection should begin, unless the event is held indoors. We normally secure our screens by placing 18" stakes in the ground around the screen. If we cannot place stakes in the ground for any reason (no stakes allowed, pavement, concrete, etc.) customer is responsible for providing weighted item for tying off to secure the screen. Examples would be water filled trash cans, sand bags, cinder blocks, etc. Customer is responsible for letting us know if these items are not available on-site at least 72 hours prior to rental. FunFlicks Mid-Atlantic offers sand bag and water barrel rentals for locations where stakes are not allowed and customer is responsible for securing these items prior to event date.
As a service provider, we bring the outdoor movie experience to you. That requires delivery from our nearest warehouse. We also are required to pay the owner of our trademark in order to use the FunFlicks name. So with each rental, you will see a delivery charge based on your location and surcharge that we will pay to our brand. But don’t worry!!! Even with these additional charges, we guarantee that our price will still be lower than any competitor using the same or equivalent equipment. As for those companies using cheap knock-off equipment at a price too low to believe, you get what you pay for! (Also, run!)
This depends on you. Occasionally, we hear that customers have gone with another company just because the price was lower. Sometimes that’s okay, particularly if the customer doesn’t really care much about quality and is willing to take a risk just to get an event done and over.
It is frightening to us when we find out that a customer who went with a no name company for a major corporate/school/town event wound up with a DJ trying to side-gig outdoor movies by using a sheet and projector, or a $75 screen they bought on Amazon.
Or worse, when a customer went with “[Google-hot-button SEO term] Outdoor Movie Company” and then found out that the company, which is out of state, overbooked them or worse, lied to them about the screen size and equipment and won’t refund their money.
COVID-19 changed the outdoor event industry dramatically, allowing many half-serious competitors, and desktop/internet jockeys, to enter the marketplace. FunFlicks has been the leader in this industry for almost 20 years. Even our top competitors were once FunFlicks owners/licensees.
FunFlicks Mid-Atlantic prides itself in being a major player in the Delaware market. Our people are from, live in, or frequently work in Delaware. We send local techs to our Delaware events, using state of the art equipment that’s kept and maintained in Delaware. We have longstanding relationships with Delaware towns, universities, schools, and businesses. Most importantly, we are insured and guarantee our events. AND if there is ever an issue, you will not have to go far to find us.
That depends. FunFlicks Mid-Atlantic doesn't provide movie licenses (no movie equipment rental company does). These licenses are provided by Swank and Criterion. More information can be found here: Movie Licensing USA: FAQs | Swank Motion Pictures or here: Criterion FAQs - Public Performance Licensing
